Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to sit down with one of our regulars and talk a bit about life. As the conversation continued on, the topic of Lent came up. Lent is the season in the church where some people choose to give up something as a reminder of Jesus’ sacrifice for the world. She brought up something that a priest once told her. He said that instead of giving something up, we should set aside time to serve our neighbor. I thought that was a pretty great idea. What if instead of giving things up, we reached out toward our neighbor in service? Instead of just asking the question, I decided that this month, Crave would start to do just that. For the past couple of months, we have designed a special sandwiches that are only served for a limited time. We’re doing that again with our new Baja Fish Taco. But this sandwich isn’t just a special on the menu, it’s doing something special for our neighbors at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center. SSM Cardinal Glennon is a great hospital filled with great people who provide peace for thousands of children and their families through top notch health care. Beginning Ash Wednesday, and throughout the season of Lent, every time you purchase a Crave Baja Fish Taco, 10 percent of the proceeds will go directly to SSM Cardinal Glennon. A special that is doing something special for neighbors. We hope that you will join us for the next 40 days in making a difference in the lives of our neighbors.
